Peter Foggitt is a pianist and composer, recently voted winner
of the Worshipful Company of Musicians' Allcard Award. His compositions
have been performed internationally, and have been commissioned by
ensembles including St Paul's Cathedral Choir and the Eden:Stell Guitar
Duo.
His extensive concerto repertoire includes works from Mozart to
Rachmaninov (broadcast on BBC Radio 3) and Prokofiev; as a soloist,
Peter performs regularly in the UK and as a guest recitalist for Cunard
Line. He is Principal Harmoniumist of the Aurora Orchestra, and is
renowned for his improvisational abilities. As an accompanist Peter has
been praised by, among others, Joan Rodgers, Stephen Varcoe and Sarah
Walker, and recently won the RCM and TCM English Song Competitions.
Peter's recent vocal performances have included the bass solo in
Verdi's Requiem under the baton of Sir David Willcocks. He was Senior
Choral Scholar of King's College, Cambridge, and performs with various
ensembles as director and singer.
Born in Scotland in 1984, Peter studied at St Mary's Music School,
Fettes College, Chetham's School of Music and Cambridge University. He
is now a double College Scholar, and the holder of the Alfred Kitchen
Scholarship, at Trinity College of Music.
